The world is a beautiful place!
We were lucky enough to travel through Europe for 3 weeks. Our trip started with Chris Showing me his old stomping grounds. Chris served in the London England mission and did a really good job of showing me around. Next we traveled to Belgium and spent time with family. We took a train to the romantic city of Paris. We spent a few days exploring the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and the morbid catacombs. Our next train experience was very uncomfortable. We took a night train to Rome and with our luck we were in the only car that didn't have air conditioner. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep. In Rome we staying in a really cool camp ground in a trailer. It was very inexpensive but nice. It even had a swimming pool. We went on a night tour of the city and saw many large fountains that were built in the 1500's. Then next day we went to the Vatican city and to Pompeii. Our favorite Site of the whole trip was the Sistine Chapel. The large painted walls and ceilings are amazing but the history behind the paintings is even more unbelievable. It was neat to learn about each painting and it's creator. Pompeii was an experience! We took a train to Naples and then jumped on a metro to Pompeii. The city it's self was really amazing, it's very large and probably took many years to preserve. We missed our train back to Rome and so we had to spend a night in Naples. Naples was the dirties city we saw. It had garbage overflowing out of the dumpster on every street corner. Not my favorite place. We were glad to catch the early train back to Rome. Our last and final stop was Greece. We are glad that we saved Greece for last. It's was very beautiful and relaxing. We took a ferry to Paros, a small island of off Athens. The island was so small that we were able to rent a scooter and drive all the way around it in just and afternoon. The food was great and so was the beach. Our last day in Greece we spent in Athens. We alot of the old Greek ruins. One of our favorites was the Panthenon. We had the time of our lives but we are glad to be home!
